General information about Vanadium:

Symbol: V

Atomic Number: 23

Atomic Mass: 50.94 u

Description:

Vanadium represented by the symbol V in the periodic table occupies the 23rd position in the list of atomic numbers. A hard metal that presents itself in a silvery gray tone. Metal is rarely found in nature. However, once isolated in an artificial environment, it forms an oxide layer that slightly stabilizes the free metal and retains further oxidation.

Today, vanadium steel alloys are commonly used in shafts, gears and crankshafts. Also, a combination of vanadium, aluminum and titanium is often used in jet engines as it can ensure high speed. In addition, the collaboration of gallium and vanadium is used in many superconducting magnets. While vanadium pentoxide is commonly found in ceramics and is even used to produce sulfuric acid.
